The news headlines told the stories of World War I when the foundation for North Central Tire was being built. The year was 1917 and Bowlus Service, the parent company of North Central Tire, was founded. Things were soon about to change in the world. Our role in the tire business would similarly go through some changes. Over the years, North Central Tire, Stark county's oldest tire dealer, has done it all. We have operated retail locations, commercial tire centers, retread operations, and wholesale distribution. Experiencing different facets of the tire industry has helped North Central Tire to better understand what our customers go through and in turn better respond to their needs.

The founder of North Central Tire's, Leo Kotte, first connection with Goodyear wasn't related to tires. It was the building of blimps through Goodyear's Aerospace division. Our Goodyear Tire affiliation started in 1964 when Leo opened a retail location in North Canton, Ohio. His son, Doug Kotte would join the family business in 1972. Expansion would be in the plans for Leo and Doug. Mike Braun, Leo's son in law, would join the company in 1989 as controller. Mike's financial background would be an asset as he would soon contribute to the daily operations. Leo's other son, David Kotte, would join the family business in 1991. David worked in the retail operations before concentrating on the auto dealer channel. North Central Tire would operate eight retail outlets.

Today Doug Kotte is President of North Central Tire and in charge of daily operations. Under Doug's leadership, North Central Tire has grown from a single retail location to one of the region's largest tire distributors. North Central Tire has taken a path away from retail operation to concentrate on the wholesale business. Doug's drive and commitment has North Central Tire focused on reliability, quality products, and competitiveness.
